Above all else, wine should be fun, relaxing, and something you can afford to look forward to at the end of each and every day. This is your time. Time to enjoy a moment to yourself. A moment without the madness.
The Mad Housewife Kitchen Basket
My first encounter with a basket like this was at the FareStart Auction in Seattle. Each table was decorated with a Kitchen Gift Basket centerpiece that was up for auction. The basket was actually a large stainless mixing bowl loaded with handy utensils and gadgets. Of course, I bought the one on my table and broke it down into two Mad Housewife gift baskets. I assembled mine in a giant wooden salad bowl. A stainless colander will also work in a pinch. The cherry on top of my kitchen gift basket is a couple bottles of wine and a collection of lively tunes. My advice? Don't attempt any project in the kitchen without ample supply of both.
